A Tethered Technician’s main responsibility is to befriend and build trust with those living
on the streets in our communities and learn the appropriate tools to help when needed
and provide written documentation of the experience.
The Tether Technician (T3) is a support person in the community identifying and
providing services to individuals and families who are unsheltered homeless through
direct street
outreach activities and through reports/referrals from shelters, police, churches, human
service
providers and others. They are outgoing and friendly. The Tether Technician provides
support to the client and to the other agencies, connecting hard-to-reach clients to the
appropriate services.
The Tether Technician (T3) needs to be self-motivated, a quick study, able to work with
little supervision, good time manager, good with detail work and able to relate to a wide
variety
of clients and community resource people, and able to take direction. The T3 will also
be kind, compassionate, but will have boundaries and be able to share responsibilities
and say no when needed and appropriate.
Stay tuned as we continue to share how the T3 program is priority #1 in our “Solutions to End
Street Homelessness in Madison County, IL”
