Our class dove into the overlap between mental health and substance use, highlighting how symptoms can often mirror one another—reminding us why it’s so important to never make assumptions when engaging with individuals in crisis. These kinds of conversations are vital as we continue to build more compassionate, informed support networks in Madison County.
A big thank you to Jess from Chestnut Health Systems, who led a powerful Narcan training and provided PACs (Personal Access Kits) for our team to carry when out in the field. These kits could help save a life—and that’s exactly what Tethered Technicians are here for.
We also want to recognize the incredible energy in the room. Many stayed afterward, deep in conversation, continuing to learn from each other. That kind of commitment and connection is what makes this training so special.
Thank you to everyone who showed up with open minds and hearts. We’re proud of the growth happening in this program and the readiness of our community to take action.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this journey together.
With gratitude,
The Hand Up Housing Team
